Welcome to Year 3's class page.
Below you will find information relating to life in Year 3.
Our class is supported by a Student Teaching Assistant: Miss Willis (Wednesday and Thursday.)
Below is an overview of the subjects that Year 3 participate in.
English: In our English work, we will develop our reading and writing skills through stories, drama, poetry and first hand experiences, also though exciting books and authors. Enjoyment of reading and a love of books are encouraged through individual, guided and shared reading activities and we encourage children to read every day at home.
Maths: Throughout Maths we will look in depth at topics such as number, shape, space and measure as well as problem solving. We look at real life situations and how maths relates to these situations.
Our LUNAR curriculum topics include, History, Geography, Design Technology, Art and IT, which are taught through a subject led by a question. At the moment we are looking at volcanoes and whether they are Mother Nature's most destructive power.
PE: The children are taking part in athletics, dance, gymnastics and ball skill activities and need their PE kits in school every week on a Tuesday and a Friday.
