School Meals

Over recent weeks a change has been made to our school meals.  They are no longer provided by Halton Borough Council but are provided by Mellors Catering Services.

Mellors Catering Services, are an award-winning family business established back in 1840 as a  local bakery, and are now the first Choice Contract Caterer in the North for staff restaurants, schools and colleges.

Should your child have any concerns regarding meals or special dietary requirements you need school to be aware of, please call into the school office to discuss this.

There is no change to the current cost of meals which remain at £2.50 per day (£12.50 per week), and we will still require meals to be paid weekly, preferably on a Monday.  Although at present we accept payments in cash/cheque or through our school SCO pay system, from September 2019 school meals will bgoing cashless. Further instructions will follow to parents to make this happen.

All children in EYFS/KS1 are entitled to a universal free school meal each day. Children in KS2 may also be entitled to a free school meal if parents are in receipt of certain benefits and have a household income that does not exceed the Government threshold. Further information can be sought from going up to Halton Direct Link or ringing The Student Services Team on 0151 511 7188.

Packed Lunches

Children also have the option of bringing a packed lunch from home. All the children eat their lunches together in the dining room so there is no segregation according to the type of meal they are having. We promote healthy eating and therefore ask that packed lunches reflect this.

Healthy Snacks

Healthy snacks are also available during morning play. There will be a small extra charge if your child wishes to take advantage of these snacks, directly payable in cash at the start of the week.
